A partner is someone who is willing to make a four-year commitment of a minimum of $1,500 per year to help provide a private school education to an at-risk, inner-city student.  100% of partner contributions go towards the students' tuition costs, as all administration costs of the program are paid through foundation and corporate grants. 

Tuition fees at the ten schools range from $2,500 to $8,000 annually.  Often a partner finds it possible to commit a larger portion of the student's tuition.  Each student’s family is asked to contribute $500 towards the tuition, which can be subsidized by the Student/Partner Alliance if the family cannot afford to help.

We currently have some students who do not have partners because of the timing difference between awarding scholarships and partner recruitment.   We are now actively recruiting partners to ensure that all of our enrolled students are sponsored.

 

Throughout the year there are program-sponsored special events which bring partners together with their students in a group setting.  Two annual events are a day of service at the Community Foodbank of New Jersey in November and the annual holiday party and talent show in January.   Also, throughout the year, the SPA provides other opportunities for student/partner outings, such as offering tickets to basketball games or museums.   Many partners can participate in these events, but participation is certainly not required.  Of course, the partner is invited to attend the student's graduation, a proud and rewarding moment for both!
